## What it does

- Compresses JPEG, PNG and WebP images in the browser tab
- Files are never uploaded: everything stays on your device
- Keeps the original when a copy would not be lighter
- Up to 5 files at a time, with Download All as one zip

## How it works

1. **Drag your file in.** Drop your file on the drop zone above, or choose it with the file picker. Nothing is uploaded.
2. **Compare the original and the copy.** Press Preview on the finished row, drag the divider between the original and the copy, and look at it at 100 % or 200 %.
3. **Download the lighter copy.** Download the copy you like. Your original stays untouched, and a copy is offered only when it is lighter.

## Questions

- **What can I compress here?** JPEG, PNG and WebP images, up to about 24 megapixels on most computers and 12 on a phone or a small computer, 5 files at a time.
- **Do my files leave my device?** No. Everything stays on your device and your originals are untouched.
- **What about PDFs, videos or HEIC photos?** The browser version does not take them. Smally for Mac does PDFs and videos, and opens HEIC photos, on your Mac.
